Meditation for Parents

Mindfulness is an incredible tool to reduce stress and bring more joy to life, particularly in parenting. However, it requires commitment and consistency. In this group, which meets the first Tuesday of the month at 5:15pm PT, we will consider real-life parenting situations and discuss how to use yogic philosophy as outlined in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, to meet these challenges. Each group lasts about 75 minutes and includes discussion and a guided meditation practice.

The group is offered online or in-person: a Zoom link will be sent via email one day prior to our meeting. If you prefer to meet in person, reach out at least one day in advance for the address (Willow Glen area of San Jose).

Everyone is welcome, no matter the age of their child(ren), or even if they are not raising children of their own (aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends…). Parenting situations are merely used as examples of how to apply the Sutras to everyday life, and non-parents should still find value. Suggested donation of $10-30 per group (Venmo: @jeanna-lurie).
