I was first introduced to yoga during a summer camp at my dance school when I was a kid, but my pregnancy with my first daughter, Jeannessa, in 2000 brought me to the mat regularly. I quickly realized that my yoga practice gave me the necessary tools to navigate the challenging experience of motherhood. In 2004, I began teaching yoga to share these tools with others. I am known for my pre and postnatal classes with an emphasis on postural alignment and pelvic floor health, and offer training and mentorship to aspiring prenatal instructors.
While I love practicing all styles of yoga and welcome the opportunity to try something new, vinyasa flow is my favorite. It feels like a form of dance and quiets my overactive mind as all of my attention must be focused on breath and correct alignment while flowing through the poses. In addition to my pre and postnatal classes, I enjoy the opportunity to share my love of yoga with the general population, leading slow-flow classes with a focus on grounding and alignment for better quality of life in the high-pressure culture here in Silicon Valley.
